Read later and feeds

Put an article on your reading list or subscribe to a site without leaving the page.

Read later

When the page you are on is an article, the panel's footer shows a Read later button. Press it and the article goes onto your reading list in Lark.

The button only appears on pages that look like an article: a page with a single main story and the usual publication details. On a home page, a search results page, or a web app you will not see it.

Subscribe to a site's feed

Many sites publish an RSS or Atom feed. When the extension finds one for the page you are on, the toolbar icon pulses briefly and shows a feed mark, and the panel's footer gains a Subscribe button. Press it and the feed is added to Lark; new posts then arrive on their own. If you already subscribe, the panel tells you.

Subscribe buttons inside the page

When a page links directly to feed addresses, a blog listing its RSS link for instance, the extension places a small Lark subscribe button next to each one. A checkmark on the button means you are already subscribed.

Hacker News and Lobsters

On the front pages of Hacker News and Lobsters, every story row gets a small read later link. Click it and the text changes to "saving…" and then "saved ✓" without opening the story.

What the toolbar icon tells you

Icon Meaning
Plain This page is not in Lark.
Saved mark This page is already saved.
Feed mark This site has a feed you can subscribe to.
Both marks Saved, and a feed is available.

The icon pulses for a moment when a feed is detected or a save lands, and it follows your browser's light or dark theme.
