Collections are the heart of organization in Lark. Think of them as smart folders that can hold bookmarks, nest inside each other, and help you find things quickly. In this guide, we'll show you how to use collections effectively.

Creating Your First Collection

To create a collection, click the New Collection button in the sidebar or use the keyboard shortcut Cmd+Shift+N. Give your collection a name and optionally choose a color and icon.

Some ideas for collections to get you started:

  • Work Projects - One collection per project you're working on
  • Learning - Tutorials, courses, and documentation you want to study
  • Inspiration - Design ideas, writing samples, or creative work you admire
  • Read Later - Articles you want to read when you have time

Nesting Collections

Collections can be nested inside each other to create a hierarchy that matches how you think. For example:

Work
├── Project Alpha
│ ├── Research
│ └── Competitors
├── Project Beta
└── Meeting Notes

To nest a collection, simply drag it onto another collection in the sidebar, or use the "Move to" option in the collection menu.

Adding Bookmarks to Collections

There are several ways to add bookmarks to collections:

  1. When saving - Choose a collection in the save dialog
  2. Drag and drop - Drag bookmarks onto collections in the sidebar
  3. Bulk actions - Select multiple bookmarks and use "Move to Collection"
  4. Browser extension - Pick a collection right from the extension popup

Pro Tips

Here are some tips from power users to help you get the most out of collections:

  • Use emojis in names - They're easy to spot at a glance
  • Keep it shallow - 2-3 levels of nesting is usually enough
  • Archive completed projects - Move old collections to an Archive folder
  • Combine with tags - Use collections for projects and tags for topics
